I recently replaced my OEM head unit in my EX. I did not have the OEM nav unit.
I had an EX non nav. The Bluetooth module is a separate piece of hardware. With the EX with nav I believe it is part of the head unit.
So the Bluetooth can be kept intact with a non nav car but you need to do some hotwireing to get it hooked up... There is a video on youtube and crzforums.com has a few threads that mention what needs to be done. Really though i would just use the bluetooth in the new head unit. Works just as well for me.

Aftermarket HU and Factory BT?
I'm trying to decide is I want the EX w/Nav or just an EX and then add an aftermarket HU with built in Nav, HD Radio, and Back-up camera capabilities (for about $1400 installed v. the $2000 for the OE Nav w/o Back-up Camera and HD Radio). Has anyone swapped the OE HU for an aftermarket one? Is the Factory Bluetooth tied to the radio? In other words, If I pull the OE Stereo from an EX, will I lose the Bluetooth phone capability?
